Inside the Britannic

Inside the Britannic -
1 X 50:00

In the year 2000, an eager group of some of the world’s best cave and shipwreck divers set out to explore and unlock the mysteries of the Britannic. This ship has the tragic distinction of being both the largest vessel ever to sink, as well as being the sister-ship to Titanic. Following in the footsteps of two of the giants of underwater exploration, Jacques Cousteau and Robert Ballard, divers from the Global Underwater Exploration Team intended to do what these two giants could no --- to become the first humans to penetrate the innards of the Britannic since its unbelievable and unexplained sinking on November 21, 1916.

The rediscovery of the Titanic has captivated the world, culminating in the explosion of interest generated by the success of James Cameron’s epic film. While the Titanics story is known around the world, few have heard of the 900 foot Britannic, the White Star luxury liner turned British hospital ship which went down just off the Greek island of Kea during World War I. The Global Underwater Explorers, led by Jarrod Jablonski, are the third group to be given diving permission to investigate the Britannic wreckage and marks a significant point in the history of the exploration of this once magnificent ship.

Inside the Britannic traces the unique journey of the gigantic ship and follows the small band of divers who sought to unlock her mysteries. Through exclusive first images from inside the wreckage and stunning animation, we discover how the ship came to her final resting place.
